Hi. I’m Debby, mum to 4 amazing young men and all round fan of anything related to exercise and the great outdoors.

My journey with climbing began back in 2011 which I set up Ingleton Climbing Academy, a heavily subsidised club for local children to experience the joy of climbing. Over the years it has grown from strength to strength and now has membership of 50 local children between the ages of 6 and 18. The club is supported by the BMC (British Mountaineering Council) and is the template upon which other clubs are encouraged to work.

I have been a gym user for many years but the focus of the content of my gym work has changed over the last few. In 2022 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and found few people were able to offer advice on whether I should continue training pre, during and post treatment. I made my own choice! I kept going, although to a lesser degree. After my treatment I decided to add another string to my bow and qualify as a fitness and PT instructor. My goal, to get people fit and healthy, especially those who may be facing surgery. The fitter you are the better!

My other passions over the years have also included hiking, cycling, running and paddle boarding. I have taken part in several cycle sportives over the years and in 2023 took part in The Lap – a 45 mile ultra trail race around Windermere.

More recently I just do all of the above for fun!
